Unemployment Benefits Extension..Have We Gone Too Far?

When is enough ..well enough! Do we keep extending benefits for 2yrs, 3yrs, or what? Are we really helping or becoming a pimp. How? First we help you and get you to the point where you either can’t do for yourself..OR WON’T do for yourself!

The flip side is that there will always be bad apples that spoil it for the good ones. What about people who want to work, but can’t find (adequate) work. And here’s the sticker that no one wants to talk about, especially politicians. Its too politically dangerous. They are known as the under employed.

Here’s the scenario: You’ve been working faithfully on your job for 11yrs. Then BAM! Job cuts hours (if you’re lucky), lays off, or worst close up shop. You make $50k per year. You don’t over indulge in unnecessary material things. You manage your finances and try to save. But what do you do when you can’t find employment that’s within the same income range as you’re accustomed to? You may find a job making $25k-$30k, but you know that’s not going to keep you afloat. You most likely will have to end up taking some days off to go on interviews for a higher paying job.

This is a very common occurrence. What do you do? How do you survive? Are these people even being counted, probably not since they are employed. So, do you think the extension is a good move..or one that will come back to bite us in the arse?
